But can they sustain success long enough to become a dynasty? In this blog post, we’ll explore how Verstappen and Red Bull could potentially make history in Formula One in 2020 and beyond. From their impressive performance last season to what lies ahead for them, read on to find out if this could be the start of something special for the duo.
Max Verstappen’s racing career
Max Verstappen is a Dutch Formula One driver who races for the Red Bull Racing team. He is the son of former Formula One driver Jos Verstappen.
Verstappen made his Formula One debut with Scuderia Toro Rosso at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix, becoming the youngest driver to compete in Formula One at the age of 17 years and 164 days. He then moved to Red Bull Racing mid-season, replacing Daniil Kvyat. At the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix, he became the youngest ever driver to win a Formula One Grand Prix at the age of 18 years and 228 days. He followed this up with wins at the 2017 Malaysian and Mexican Grands Prix, making him the first Dutchman to win multiple Grands Prix.
In 2018, Verstappen finished third in the World Drivers’ Championship behind Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel. He also won three races; in Austria, Germany and Mexico.
2019 was another successful year for Verstappen as he again finished third in the championship, this time behind Hamilton and Vettel’s Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc. He won races in Austria and Brazil, as well as taking pole position for Red Bull at Silverstone – their home race – for the first time in over a decade.
2020 began promisingly for Verstappen as he took back-to-back podiums in Austria and Styria, before winning his first race of the season
Red Bull’s Formula One history
Red Bull have been a regular fixture in Formula One since they entered as a constructor in 2005. They won their first race in 2009, and have gone on to become one of the most successful teams in recent years. Their driver lineup has changed over the years, but currently consists of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo.
Red Bull’s Formula One history began when they took over the struggling Jaguar team in 2004. The team was rebranded as Red Bull Racing for the 2005 season. They failed to score a point in their debut season, but improved to second place in the constructors’ championship in 2006.
In 2007, Red Bull switched to using Ferrari engines, and this proved to be a winning move as they took their first victory at the Chinese Grand Prix. Further wins followed in 2009, 2010 and 2012. In 2013, they becameconstructors’ champions for the first time, and repeated this feat in 2014 and 2015.
2016 was a difficult year for Red Bull, as they struggled with new tyre regulations and fell behind Mercedes and Ferrari in the standings. However, they bounced back strongly in 2017, with Verstappen taking two victories en route to third place in the drivers’ championship.
Red Bull will be looking to build on this success in 2018 and beyond, as they aim to become Formula One’s next dynasty.
Can Verstappen and Red Bull become F1’s new dynasty?
Max Verstappen and Red Bull have had a strong start to the 2019 Formula One season. Verstappen has won two races and is currently second in the drivers’ standings, just behind Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull is also second in the constructors’ standings, behind Mercedes.
Many are now wondering if Verstappen and Red Bull can become Formula One’s new dynasty. It’s certainly possible; Verstappen is a very talented driver and Red Bull has proven that they have the car to compete with Mercedes.
However, there are a few things working against them. For one, Mercedes is still the dominant team in Formula One and is likely to remain so for the foreseeable future. Additionally, Ferrari is also a strong team and will be tough to beat.
Only time will tell if Verstappen and Red Bull can become Formula One’s new dynasty. But they certainly have the potential to do so.
What the future holds for Verstappen and Red Bull
It is safe to say that Max Verstappen and Red Bull have had a very successful start to the 2020 Formula One season. With Verstappen winning two races and Red Bull winning three constructors’ championships, the team looks poised to continue their success in the future.
Red Bull has shown that they have the car and the driver to compete at the front of the pack, and there is no reason to believe that they will not be able to maintain their position in the years to come. With Verstappen still only 22 years old, he has many years of racing ahead of him and will only continue to get better with time.
The future looks bright for both Verstappen and Red Bull, and it will be exciting to see what they are able to achieve in the years to come.
